Anil Rai Gupta, the son of Late Shri Qimat Rai Gupta, is the current Chairman and Managing Director of Havells. He has been actively involved with the company for over 22 years, supporting his father in various capacities until he took over the reins in 2014. Mr. Gupta has been serving as the Executive Director of the company since 1992 and has played a crucial role in its growth and success.
He pursued his higher studies from Wake Forest University in North Carolina, USA, and holds an MBA in Marketing and Finance. Mr. Gupta’s innovative marketing strategies have been instrumental in transforming Havells from a family brand to a globally recognized player in the electricals and consumer durables industry. Late Shri Qimat Rai Gupta, born into a lower-middle-class family in undivided Punjab in 1937, was raised with traditional Indian values and teachings from the Bhagwad Gita. He ventured into the business world by establishing a small electrical goods shop in Delhi’s Bhagirath Palace in 1958. In 1971, he acquired a small electrical goods company, which led to the creation of Havells.
